28m Software engineer WFH. I grew up in FL and I'm getting sick of it. I'm getting sick of being tied to a geographical location. I'm getting suffocated by everything, including my own furniture. I also want to save money big time and pay off debt, so the $3k rent is no longer feasible.
My Plan
I rented a cheap $1500/month airbnb in Bushwick, NY for two months from October to December. I have visited that area multiple times and I would love to experience living there, but I'm not committed to settling down and living there long term. In fact, I don't think that I want to settle down anywhere anytime soon. I want to be able to be on the move and experience new places.
In December, I'm planning to visit family and friends back in FL and then take a vacation, and then choose my next spot for Jan-Feb. Maybe London?
Logistics
I'm planning on selling all my furniture, expect for my L Shaped desk and my bed, which I'm planning on storing at my parent's.
My current Dilemma is this: I need my big ass 3 monitors for productivity. I can do without them, just using my laptop, but I am more productive with the triple monitor setup.
I also have a gaming rig that is huge. I'm planning on downsizing it to a mini ATX, so I can carry it around with me on my travels.
My question is: Do you guys recommend me putting my essentials (3 monitors, gaming rig) in my car and drive to Bushwick? Or should I go fully nomadic and just bring my backpack and 2 laptops? Anybody facing a similar problem?
Note 1: I know that I'm probably receiving comments like, "Why don't you move to Bangkok or Medellin"?. I will do that soon, but currently, going to 3rd world countries is not my preference, since I grew up in one.
