Is my plan for Fall a good plan?

I'm a 28m software developer, working remotely based in South Florida. I'm paying too much money for a 1 bed ($3k) and I need to save up some money. In September, my lease is up. I'm thinking about the following plan:
- Put all my shit in a storage unit
- Get a cheap sublet room in Brooklyn ($1500 or less) for a few months
- Drive my car and my essentials there (PC, monitors, clothes)
- After a few months, repeat by going to a different city, or stay at parents for a few weeks in FL in between
What do you guys think about this plan?
