Currently have the AT&T latin America plan that I use to frequently call the US from here in Bogotá, Colombia - assume 20 calls per day

Sometimes calling is not an issue, but often times I won't be able to call US numbers. When I dial, the call may just immediately disconnect.

So my question is - is the international AT&T service just really bad? If that's the case are there better options?

Or is this a cultural thing here in Colombia and everyone has poor reception? I
