Hello Nomad community-

I recently learned about mobile hotspots after I started using my current AT&T plan & phone as a hotspot for my laptop here in Bogota, but it seems like I'm using more data than I originally anticipated, and the speed slows down after 30GB of usage/month. Additional they charge $15 for 10 extra GB.

Was curious with people's experience with mobile hotspots with unlimited data. I don't quite understand the concept, it seems like you have to pay a large upfront fee for a device and then a monthly payment in addition for data?

I don't spend much time in the US, would love to hear other people's experience using mobile hotspots, the devices they use or that they would recommend. Thanks.
