Memes as material culture
Post Body

Hello, I am an anthropology student, new to Reddit and writing. A couple of weeks ago I found myself trying to explain 'meme' culture to a friend who had no idea what it meant or was. I soon realized It was as if I was trying to explain an entire world view, ontology, or form-of-life. I wrote up my thoughts as a form of 'guide' which turned into a very brief exploration. It would be very interesting to see what people with an anthropology background thought of the whole concept and I would really appreciate any form of criticism and/or debate!
