Hello all,
The nature of my job largely entails giving nutrition workshops, so my consults aren't very medical in nature because I don't have access to bloodwork, medical background, other than what clients they tell me.
This being said, I consulted with a client recently (maybe late 30s, Female). She believes she has long Covid and is experiencing a host of issues. Also diagnosed with POTS, has GERD, chronic diarrhea, iron anemia.
Unintentional weight loss ~5% of actual body weight (wasn't able to get a time, but think it's several months) because her appetite is greatly reduced <50% of usual. BP and RHR are spiking post exercise.
She is typically very active (due to her job) and usually works out multiple times a week but is now unable too because of her health issues.
Reported food intolerances to chocolate/alcohol/caffeinated beverages. She also said hot and cold foods throw her stomach off?
I live in Western NY, where we are overly saturated with RDs because we have several schools to graduate new RD2BEs every year. However, I don't know of a way to search for RDs who are more familiar with Covid related issues (which she swears this is where all her problems started).
I would love to refer her to someone like this who can also safely get her medical background and do a proper consult so she can get the help she needs.
I would greatly appreciate any feedback.
