Just dloaded Diablo 4 today and have really been enjoying the game so far, but I really don't like the Mother's Blessing power we have at the moment and was wondering if there's any way to disable it in my game? Thanks!
Just personal preference. I like to take my time in games like this and grinding to a new level is part of the fun for me, and the XP boost was making it happen too quickly for my liking, so I'll just wait till the boost has passed and go back to it.
I totally agree about the permadeath making it more interesting, it's something I've done in quite a few other games. But since this is my first ever Diablo game, I decided against it for now - not feeling brave enough! Have you done any hardcore runs?
Ah, sorry you didn't enjoy Starfield, that must have been so disappointing after such a long wait. My rig wouldn't even come close to being able to play it, so I haven't even tried. You're right about the game pass having lots of older or indie games, but a lot of them are still really good. I got a 3 month pass last year and just rinsed it, completely ignoring my Steam games for that time. The good thing about the game pass is that I don't feel I have to struggle through a game through some kind of obligation like I sometimes do if I've bought the game individually. It was a great way to quality control my gaming for that period of time.
Ah ok, thanks. might be a better idea to be more versatile in my attacks then. Although I could do a respec as well I suppose. I'm similar to you with the game pass in that I don't really use it much, Steam is my main platform. But every now and then they'll add some games I like so I purchase a one month pass, then play those, then end the subscription.
I've literally only played a couple of hours of it, since I only downloaded it this morning, but I've really enjoyed what I've played so far. I only have one month of game pass, so won't be able to play it long term online or anything but I'm looking forward to playing through the campaign.
Can I ask - do any of the enemies ever have resistances to certain elements, or is the choice of fire, ice etc. completely stylistic? I want to go full pyro, but don't want to run into a situation where enemies don't get damaged by it!
I don't mean I'm levelling too fast in relation to the game - you're right, I haven't played enough to say that. What I mean is I'm levelling too fast for my personal enjoyment. I enjoy the grind in these sorts of games, so when I level up as quick as I have been I don't find it as enjoyable. I don't intend on putting hundreds and hundreds of hours into the game, I'm only going to play through the campaign and do the sidequests and if I have to grind to get there, I really don't mind.
Arse âšī¸ thanks for the swift reply, much appreciated
That's a good idea about trying different classes, I'll keep that in mind, especially since it's more than likely I'll play through the campaign more than once. For now though, I'll wait till next week to go back to it. đ
What u/The_Acknickulous_One said is exactly how I feel. When I play ARPGs, I always do it solo and I'm only interested in the campaign, not anything that comes after it. For me, a huge part of the fun and sense of achievement in games like this comes from making it to a new level, especially when I know it will unlock a certain skill or power that I'm interested in. But when it happens this quickly because of a completely arbitrary boost it just cheapens it for me and dilutes a lot of the fun for me.

Thanks for this, I am one of those game pass people! I can see why it's been done, especially given your explanation, it's just not my preference, hence my query about whether we could disable it. Like you say, I'll just jump into another game for now and come back when it's passed.
