The game released in an underwhelming state. Season 1 was developed prior to launch. Ofcourse the seasonal mechanic would be equally underwhelming... its the same devs, making a Season without the game being in the wild for player critique...
As a video game, Diablo 4 is a solid 7 out of 10. As an ARPG in 2023, D4 is a 5 out of 10.
Blizzard nailed the feeling of combat and as always, cinematics. Outside of those 2 aspects, EVERYTHING else is lacking.
Thus, the same devs that released an underwhelming ARPG experience, where now supposed to release a phenomenal Season?
Ya really trusted them to properly balance classes, when they developed a system that requires Vulnerable dmg on 99% of builds? A dev team that made the Druid aspects feel amazing when they all work together, but for the other 4 classes, NOTHING remotely close to that level of synergy.. The devs that CLEARLY did not test Sorc or Necro survivability outside of the open world...
If we want D4 to be great, we need to give this game a good 4 to 5 seasons... im not happy about this, but with the state of the game and how slow they are to fix critical ARPG pain points (Gem tab for ex.) there is no way D4 is going to be much better in Season 2 and probably Season 3.
We are stuck with this dev team... and they clearly aren't on Grinding Gears level.
