Sorcerer does not feel fun to play?

I've played the game 140 hours so far and my highest level character is sorcerer at level 76. I'm not sure what or why but there's something so underwhelming about the class and I'm not sure what exactly it is. The only good build on the class 70 is ice shards I think? And if I'm not playing that fire feels like I'm tickling people to death. Firewall damage seems very hit and miss? The skill says 20k damage over 8 seconds? Then only does 1k damage per tick? Then sometimes I see 7k damage per tick? I'm not sure what to do now? Do I wait till season 1 to play again and pick druid?
