Made a post yesterday and I've seen all the pinned posts but they only apply to game sharing.
We have one ps5 console and two accounts. Account 1 bought the game early access. Account 2 has license issue when attempting to play alone. It's fine we only play together anyway. Login to account 1, account 2 presses start to join split screen. We play about 3 hours, take a break and get kicked for inactivity. Come back to play, do the same process. Account 2 gets the error "none of your characters are compatible with this world" and would have to make a new one. She's sad she lost her progress.
Haven't seen anyone posting about this issue. It sucks because Diablo is one of the few games left we can sit on the couch together and enjoy next to each other.
EDIT: I FIXED IT. Its a bit of a process but here's how to get both characters back into the server. Don't select the character from the first session for account 1. Make a new one, skip cutscene and let account 2 join splitscreen. Account 2 should have character from first session now in the list! Join with said character. Account 1 leaves game and rejoins with the character from first session the same way account 2 just did.
It's a long method and requires a brand new character on standby for account 1 but I've recreated this multiple times and can confirm it works. Every play session will just begin at the cave, which gets a bit annoying but small price to pay.
