When I injected my lantus blood back flowed into my syringe. I did not notice until I had injected my 100U and looked down to see the entire chamber of the syringe streaked with blood. Usually if I hit a capillary it floods my syringe immediately and I won’t inject. But I looked up to answer a question since I knew my needle was inserted properly and hadn’t seen any evidence. My question is has anyone had this happen and how long did it take to see a change in glucose level and how far did you drop before you started going up again? I have had this happen once before but with a much smaller dose of a different insulin. So far I have dropped from 362 to 280 in about 30 minutes. I am normally not this high but got caught out with out my insulin and had to grab a quick snack.
