Hi fellow diabetics. I am having an issue with my (American) health insurance and getting my insulin pumps.
Saw my endo early in august. Told her I was about to run out, she sent in the paper work for my pumps. It's now September, and I have not gotten my new RX yet, my insurance company was holding it up in its "review" and wanting prior authorization. Thankfully I thought to ask my doc for insulin pens, so I just barely managed to escape going the long Labor Day weekend without insulin. But now have found myself back to MDI. Have any of you found ways to avoid these issues?
TLDR: insurance is keeping me from insulin pumps for weeks, do any of you have advice on how to navigate this. are some pumps easier to get? (I use omnipod now, but is the slim etc better?)
