Warning: I’m complaining big time. So if that’s not something you have room for, keep scrolling.
I’m in my 2nd year of teaching and I know education is my calling. I love teaching and I’m even halfway decent at it. But let me tell ya, the burn out and stress is taking its toll on my body and diabetes management. Regular exercise? Don’t know her. Bolus 15 minutes before eating? Kinda difficult when I get 20 minutes a day for lunch. Most of the time I’m working while I scarf everything down. The early mornings. The late nights grading. It’s all becoming too much. I’m sure anyone in health care feels the same way.
I can’t help but look at my friends that work in the private sector and spend most of their time working from home and feel a twinge of envy. What do other people do for a living that allows them the time and energy to take care of themselves?
