is an A1C of 8.6 that bad?
Post Body
I recently downloaded my CGM report and it showed an estimated A1C of 8.6 with a daily average glucose reading of 199. My parents are worried and said that it's a pretty high number, and even told me that my doctor is calling me to the hospital to stay there for a few weeks to get a hang of things, since my levels could cause eye and kidney problems and maybe even DKA. Is it really needed? Are my levels that bad? Should I be alarmed? I'm 16 F, been type 1 for almost two years.
