NOT ASKING FOR MEDICAL ADVICE. Just a question!
I’ve been diagnosed since 2020, but don’t regularly check my sugar anymore since I’m well controlled (5.9 a1c at last check). I also no longer take any insulin or pills for diabetes. I went off of Ozempic when my a1c was 5.5 but when it went up to 5.9 asked to go back on it because I was DKA in 2020 with a four day hospital stay (3 in the ICU) and I got nervous.
All of that mentioned above has been done under the direction and guidance of my endocrinologist.
Anyway, on to the question. I had breakfast at 9:20am which had ~40g carbs between the food and a protein latte. Logic says check sugar at 11:20. But, I haven’t finished my latte yet. It has around 10g carbs in it. It’s now 30 min since I finished eating and I’m still working on the latte.
Would you guys say it’s best to check my sugar still at 11:20? Or wait until I finish the drink completely? I don’t want to bother my endo with such as silly question!
