Recently had my A1C test. Was pleasantly surprised. When everything started back in July, I was diagnosed T2 with an A1C of 10.6. I've been managing everything with the tracking app and it was reading out an A1C estimate of 6.9. Honestly, I was hoping to at least hear from my tests that it would have gone under 8 or so. Going under 7 any amount would just be a happy shock. Instead, I managed to get it with a 6.4. It made me so happy.
Now, I've gotten a change to my medicines. No more nighttime insulin glargine. And the mealtime lispro is now just to be used as a sliding scale system if my sugars are past 180, rather than every meal. I'm still on Metformin, hand have been added Januvia as well.
I did want to ask, for anyone who does take it as well, any side effects I should know about Januvia? My doctor did give the heads up that there is one rare side effect of pancreatitis, but I figured I'd ask to see anyone had any knowledge.
