The Pharmacy filled 5mm Pen Needles instead of the 8mm I asked for. Their excuse was they ran out of 8mm.
At first I didn't think it really mattered that much, but I'm finding a couple of issues. The worst being that when used with my Humalog, it seems to take two to three times as long before I see any effect from the injection, and seem to need about 25% more insulin. I'm also seeing leakage of my Victoza and Tresiba from the injection site once the needle is removed, so I suspect something similar is happening with the humalog, but going unnoticed.
Has anyone else seen this effect? Can 3mm really make that much difference? I had to go OOP to get some longer needles, since insurance will not cover more for another 60 days, and ended up with 12.7mm needles.
