(Stupid autocorrect I'm aware I spelt role wrong) So I just took a 12 month contract as an infrastructure specialist for a large government department, I have been transitioning from infrastructure/sysadmin to more devops roles and the last 2 years I primarily worked as a cloud engineer where I built scalable solutions for a wide variety of clients on AWS using code for automated config management and my own bootstrapping solutions etc I was told there would be cloud and automation components to this contract but there really isn't much at all, I will do what I can to automate the environment here but it's really too huge for me to make much of an impact (30,000 vm's) I'm dedicated to becoming a devops/cloud specialist and being at the top of that field as I was in the infrastructure space (15 years experience) however this role is over $200k a year so I've chosen money over career progression.. But what are my chances of getting back in to the primarily devops cloud space after 12-18 months here?
