Hope everyone is ready to hide those clippers and razors! The playoff beard is quite possibly the best-known hockey playoff tradition.

Some recent debate among friends (if it was on here I’ve missed it) on WHEN the beard cultivation begins.

1. Shave day before playoffs, don’t touch til win the cup (this how I’ve always done it)

2. Shave morning of Game 1, don’t touch til cup

3. Stop shaving upon clinch

4. Stop shaving once regular seasons ends

Thoughts?

I also practice tossing a sweater/shirt of the opposing team into the freezer. I ziploc mine, don’t want to contaminate any food. This goes double, triple for Rags or Flyers.

Any other superstitions that any of you follow?
