Can i get into IT after 4 years career gap?

I completed civil engineering in 2021 and got placed in a construction company i quitted that job because that pay was very low After i was preparing for govt exams in my home for a year no luck for me and 2 years passed It was 2022 and my family suggested me to start a textile business in my hometown so i did try with a huge investment then after a year the textile market fell down and we had to sell a Ancestral property for clearing the loan debt Now i got a feeling that i can learning programming and get a job in that

When i asked my friends and some tech institute they say the companies are not hiring freshers and for me that i have a career gap I got very less chances of getting a job in IT Now i got confused whether i can try to learn programming and search for jobs or stay in the current occupation which i m not good at?? I need some suggestions please!
