Is Devops worth it? How's a life of devops guy in 2-3 years?

I am a fresher(6 MOE) and I recently got a project on devops. It's mostly writing yml scripts for infra pipeline. I don't have any experience in devops.
I've heard a lot that devops is good. I want to know how should I make the best of this opportunity? What all this should I focus on? Any general advice on this will be really helpful. Thanks in advance!
