I was in Germany for about 5 days. In the time that I was there, I had 3 booked trip destinations. Not one of them got me to the destination. I had been warned that Deutsche Bahn hasn't been the same the past year or so.
The first I had to get off halfway because they said they didn't have a conductor the rest of the way so I had to stand on a moving train for an hour and a half. The second and third were just cancelled due to the weather and flooding (even though the cities I was going to didn't actually have flooding) and I had to get new routes from the same cities. In contrast I took trains in 2 neighbouring countries that got me there right on the exact minute.
I read that you could get refunded for the reserved seats but don't know if that's true. I had reserved seats for all three of my trips.
Anyway, long story short, is this normal now or did I just have really bad luck?
