I tracked ticket prices from day 1 to game day. Here is what I found

Post Body

Every day from when single game tickets first dropped, up to a few hours before game time, I checked pricing on tickets for the Seahawks vs Lions game in Detroit. I did this for section 118 and section 319 – however, I will only be discussing data dealing with section 118 today as I have not yet analyzed data for 319.

Parameters were minimum quantity of 2 tickets seated together and cheapest possible for that section. The prices reflect ALL fees included. So, if Ticketmaster listed the ticket at $250, but at checkout it was $337, that was the price I listed

The takeaway as far as I am concerned is as follows: Tickpick tends to be the cheapest overall, for the exact same tickets. A lot of people on reddit scream to not buy tickets when they first drop, however, day 1 prices – $345 specifically from Tickpick – were a good value in comparison to the averages which were as follows:

$368 for Tickpick $380 for Stubhub $424 for Ticketmaster $370 for Gametime Overall average $385

For whatever reason early July was very cheap. Two weeks before the game was cheap, and as expected, day of game was cheap.
