I pass less now than i did early in my detransition. I know why, my face & body is feminized more; but unlike when i identified as male, it wasn't until i accepted my biology that i was able to walk/speak more masculinely without a 2nd thought. Funnily enough.
I'm at a new job & my trainer consistently accidentally calls me "sir," (which he corrects without me asking) my other trainers have referred to me as "he" (immediately corrected without asking) & "they" (she claimed she was trying to be respectful by defaulting to neutral because she wasn't sure)
I never get gendered correctly on the phone, because without the feminine face & body they just hear a voice that sounds androgynous, & despite my inflection being feminine; i get "sir's"
It isn't tearing at my self esteem, it's mostly annoying. Also kind of hilarious that it feels like I'm being gendered as male just slightly more than i was while i was on testosterone.
I'm comfortable being a masculine woman & i don't want to do voice training. I often get compliments about my voice being "soothing." I just wish the world would catch up. Not being extremely feminine doesn't make me less of a woman, I'm just a different kind of woman.
I hate knowing an 8 year phase i happened to slip into at twelve years old is probably going to follow me for the rest of my life.
