Hoping Gjally serves a different purpose or is trash when it comes out.
Post Body

Preface: I have bought the 30th anniversary bundle. I have not played destiny 1.

I am a relatively new light. I started playing around late may and got really hooked during the solstice festival, and have clocked hundreds of hours into this game since then. As such, I have heard of the fabled Gjallerhorn, and how completely broken it was in D1. How it literally was the exotic to have, and most raid groups wouldn't even let you in if you didn't have it.

Come late August at the WQ reveal, and there it is front and center, the fabled Gjallerhorn, rereleased in D2! Incredible!

But also terrifying. I realize that d1 sometimes is regarded as not the greatest game, and that there were a lot of improvements in the second. But it's terrifying because if Gjally is good, then suddenly Bungie has released a $30 pay wall into most raid LFGs. I am scared that suddenly you a required to have it to join lfgs, because not only the paywall for others, but because of how restricted that makes your load out and customization.

So my HOPE is that kind of like EoT, Gjallerhorn serves a different purpose than just batshit crazy DPS in raids, or is just balanced enough to not be a requirement. If it is as good as it was tho, I will suddenly be creating lfgs for those without GHorn only to fight discrimination.

Tl;Dr don't want ghorn to be a paywall to raid lfgs, hope it's balanced or that it has a different application than just dps.
