Only way to get mods is to buy from banshee?

Ive only had the game a few weeks and just got 1220 so I wanted to do the second level of the nightfall. Problem is i dont have and anti-barrier mods to put on any guns. All i have is the shield piercing mod from the artifact. Is the only way to obtain mods from banshee? If so I guess does he change out everyday or only weekly?
