Does anyone know how to invite non-friends to your fire team on your PS4 without adding them?

I have the destiny 2 companion app and so I went in to look for a fire team to do the NF. Once I confirmed, 3 minutes later The guy sent me a destiny 2 game invite and we weren’t even friends?! Does anyone know how to do this?? I just hate how it’s so tedious
