Now I know sunsetting was horrible, it made everyone unable to use their favorite weapons in activities and then they brought the weapons back and you had to to grind. But I feel like Destiny 2 has a problem still where people aren't concerned about even checking out new weapons in seasons and expansions because they already have established ones.

I propose a form of soft sunsetting. This change would also bring back the pinnacle cap increase by 10 every season.

But the idea is that only the seasonal gear of that season can reach the pinnacle cap. Every other piece of gear can only reach the power cap.

These exotics would not be limited to those power levels though, whenever the level increases those weapons can be brought up again to the next power cap.

This would allow people to still use their preferred weapons in most end game content, but for those who want even more of an edge you can go for the new seasonal gear.

That's my idea.
