Post Body

Hey so a couple people wanted to know about what I was eating and doing to lose weight so I thought I would make a post since others might be able to chime in with better ideas. I've lost 70 pounds from 325 to 255 in a little under 2 years time right now and honestly about half of that was me not losing weight or maintaining because of depression and anxiety. Anyways just learning how to monitor calories was big and you don't even have to exercise that hard. The caloric deficit is the thing you need if you are under your maintenance calories you lose weight, if you are above you gain. So keeping track of calories is important to losing weight more do than the food you eat honestly. Last week I ate a whole bags of chips and a bunch if cookies 2 days in a row, but because I was under maintenance calories for the week I lost weight. Not saying you should ear that, but we all fuck up from time to time haha. You shouldn't eat like that because it isn't healthy with all the sodium and fat, but you also don't have to cut them out entirely.

On to what I eat sorry for rambling So I meal prep once a week and get about 15 meals out of it usually. I usually have turkey or chicken one week and lean ground beef the next. I'm not a great cook so I just kind of toss thing in it, but I'm alright with it. I usually season with garlic salt or powder, onion powder, and black pepper. That's the base if it's chicken or turkey I then add the chicken or turkey gravy mixes the low sodium versions. Isn't the healthiest, but I like the flavor profile. Sometimes I do like tex mix or BBQ chicken flavoring as well, but that's pretty rare. For beef I use Montreal steak spice some times or taco seasoning, not thise to together as it give a weird flavor in my opinion. Lately though I've even using chili garlic and a bit of chili oil to add to the beef and it give a lot of flavour. Would highly recommend, but if you are really bad with spicy things you should avoid it, not super spicy but if you find black pepper too spicy don't try. I make about 5 cups of rice with it as well and just boil vegetables in no sodium chicken stock with whatever I have decided for spices that day. When it's all done I mix it in a big pot and separate into containers. I usually try for at least a 2 to 1 weight for the vegetables to meat ratio. When I do turkey or chicken each serving come out to about 400 calories and beef comes out to about 500. Just be careful when making it.

I also eat protein oats. Just get oats protein powder and make it how you would usually make oats, instant oats work well for me because I'm lazy. I also add fruit on top just like a handful of blueberries or strawberries. I also have protein shakes just protein powder fruit and water in a blender, would be better with milk but trying to limit calories. I think it tastes fine. Salads with a little cheese and low calorie dressing can work as well, but I find I get bored more easily with those. If you have any questions let me know and I can clarify. I could try to make a video, but I have a shit camera so might not be too good. That's about all I can think of to be honest. Eat more protein to fill yourself up.

Please feel free to add on your own suggestions in the comments. Hopefully this helps a little. Good luck friends and stay healthy everyone.
