On the ward We were told how to be happy. Problem solve, meditate, take a shower. I stared at them with apathy because they didn't understand, they didn't even really care about us. Us. She saved my life in a million ways, she showed me kindness and smiles and late nights talking, She reminded me that I could be loved - deserved it- and should be treated right, that I was not a blight on society, not a burden. We sang and talked trash and laughed and laughed. It wasn't the group therapy or the doctors that saved me. It was her, and Us, and the bond we forged, on the ward.
