I find myself helping friends with their issues even though I'm still depressed

I'll help my friends with their issues even though I don't solve the issue for myself. They need help with homework? "I'll help you before I do my own work". Need me to take your shift even though I told my friend we could hang out? "Sure no problem". Need help getting with a girl that i already like a lot, "well it's not like I had a chance with her anyways". Why can't it all just end. I want to die every day, car accident, Building collapses, robbery gone bad, heck even struck by lightning. Please happen.
