Hi y'all! I started depo 3 months ago. I've been overweight my entire life, but the last several years I've been easily able to maintain my weight, and not gain, and even lose a few pounds here and there. Now I'm finding it's next to impossible.

I just went the other day for my second injection, and when I stepped on the scale, I had gained ten pounds- I THOUGHT something was going on, and that confirmed it, because I noticed that I felt and looked a little bigger.

But the thing is... I haven't been eating as much. I have a sedentary job, but I'm very active when I'm not at work. I usually skip breakfast, and because of my job I also end up skipping lunch about 80% of the time, so I've pretty much only eaten dinner and a snack before I go to bed. I was able to maintain my weight ten pounds ago for YEARS, and suddenly I'm gaining. Has anyone else experienced this? I know weight gain is a side effect to depo, but I wasn't really expecting it, considering the above.

What have y'all done to lose/maintain your weight while using depo? I really don't want to stop. Besides the weight gain, I've had no other side effects, I feel AMAZING, and I don't want to switch to another birth control because this one is just so right for me. I'm about to religiously start counting my caloric intake again, but I just don't understand. I don't really eat big meals, and I've been really laying off lately especially, because I've been having flare ups of my gi issues (it literally hurts my stomach to eat most of the time, so I try to eat as little and as cleanly as possible).

Should I maybe bring this up with my doctor next time I'm in the office?
