I’ll cut right to it, every 12” singles collection since ‘Exciter’ sucks, with special exception to SOTU & more specifically the 6ixtoes mix(s), there are little to no creative reimagining of the songs at all. It’s basically just lets put down a generic dance drum pattern with an even more Generic techno drum kit, throw a band pass on the vocals & call it a remix. It’s disappointing & lazy asf, I’m so glad I didn’t have to pay for a physical copy of these things. Like I said the 6ixtoes mix’s of Jezebel, Come Back & Peace are exempt from this; those are great examples of what I’m looking for in these remixes. It used to be that way on all of the singles specifically MFTM - Exciter. They were creative reimaginings of the songs that stood alone super well & added to the experience of listening to a beloved song. These newer ones Are just lazy, boring and they make me sad cause I actually really like the newer albums more than most people do so I actually do have expectations for them.
