For starters, I shouldn’t have to explain that this is Top 5 in DM’s discography. The songs are excellently written and produced with no shortage of classic records, but I can’t help but to be annoyed that the Mixing of this album is kinda poor. I can’t be alone in thinking that the mixing & mastering(ESPECIALLY ON THE KICKS) is very quiet & also inconsistent. ‘Black Celebration’ ‘Question of Lust’ & ‘Stripped’ sound as if they’re louder than the rest of the songs, while ‘New Dress’ ‘Fly on the Windscreen’ & ‘Here is the house’ sound significantly quieter. Not to mention the kicks don’t hit like they’re supposed to on any of the songs. It almost stunts my enjoyment of the album, almost. The other 2 albums Gareth Jones did sound perfectly mixed all the way through, so it always annoys me that the best of that Trilogy is poorly done. I just wanna know if I’m alone in this or if anyone else notices these issues in the mix?
