sensory issues.

I had all my upper teeth extracted and a temporary denture made. My goal is to eventually get snap ins. My dentist said I would need to do this temporary denture for 6 months before doing that. However I'm having major major sensory issues. I keep having panic attacks because I'm getting overwhelmed while they are in and not sure what to do. Any advice? Was this really my only option?
