Sorry I'm getting around to this a little late, I started my job again today after a 3 1/2 day weekend to rest. This will be a shorter one, which is probably a relief to you guys after how much detail I went into on the previous days :)
TL;DR Creamy scrambled eggs are the bomb, sores suck major balls, I can actually masticate some of my dinner!!! Better day all around :)
So, Day 3 rolls around and it seems to be a much better day, but I feel like my jaws and neck are really strained because I'm used to having my teeth as a buffer for my jaws. I have trouble putting both in today. Salt water swish, hydrogen peroxide swish, but I now seem to have 4 sores on the front of my gums. The really bad one from the day before, as well as one kinda in each front corner of my gums. I try to benzocaine those mofos up and it's still not enough. I also try one of the Seabond strips on the bottom. I thankfully don't have to do too much trimming and tell myself that I need to make a template so I don't have to keep trying to fit the strip and then cut it, because that's kinda annoying to cut around. Once in, it seems to help some and I can get through most of the day with it. I finally get the bottoms in but it's extremely hard to get myself to put the tops in. That sore from the day before is just so freaking painful. I finally suck it up (literally) and get the tops in place. The pain is almost so bad I wanted to puke but I finally got it there. Once it's in place, though, it's not so bad.
Hubby makes some creamier scrambled eggs for breakfast - think the kind that Gordon Ramsey makes and they were pure bliss. They were delicious and easy to eat and they made me so freaking happy. I also work on my tub of yogurt with it and I think this is the first time I've felt full since right before I had everything pulled. Which is great because I was pretty damn hungry before going to bed the night before.
Today is also the first day I end up not needing a nap in the afternoon. It turns into a not-as-painful day and I didn't even need the hydros most of the day. Hubby & I watch some TV and play some video games together, and it keeps my mind off of my dentures 90% of the day. I still have a tough time talking but with the Seabond strip in, it's helping prevent the denture from floating and interrupting my speech. I feel good enough that I figure that I don't need to call Aspen the next day like I had previously thought, that things are on the up and up.
Dinner rolls around and hubby makes me some Stove Top Stuffing (my favorite) as well as making us both some salmon. It's soft enough I can actually chew both things and I can actually feel the control of my dentures that it's actually chewing the food and I'm so happy. But as the meal goes, my bottom denture starts to float more and more, like I have too much saliva building in the Seabond strip. I finally finish dinner (again, it's nice to be full!) and pull out the bottoms and just remove the strip. Tomorrow I'm going to try two strips, see if that helps hold it any tighter, per GOT_LOLed's recommendation. It's getting near enough to bedtime that I go ahead and just take them out to clean them and put them in their handy dandy case with their cleaning tablet. I'm still feeling good enough that I decide not to take a hydro before bed. I just take my usual insomnia cocktail and head to sleep, feeling like it was a successful day.
