This is the correct take. Conservative voters value audacity above all else in their leaders. They view themselves as the proper victims in American society and leaders who make them feel their WASPy grievances are championed will win their unqualified adoration. It doesn't matter how ethical or unethical, competent or incompetent that candidate is. DeSantis is unapologetically brash therefore he's in the batters box.
