Am I demi or do I just find it difficult to trust people in sex?
Post Body

My friend recently suggested I might be demisexual. I'm interested in learning more about it, but I have a question to clarify I'm demi or something else.

I've seen demisexuality described as "not having sexual attraction until a bond/relationship is formed". The more I listen to demis describe this feeling, the less I can relate.

I'm fairly certain I do have sexual attraction to strangers. I can look at a stranger and get turned on and even want to have sex with them. The problem for me is that I very likely won't have sex with them unless I can get to know them. I have always thought of this as a trust thing - I want to trust the person will respect my boundaries and desires before getting down with each other. So, often, this means getting to know the person first, which sounds a lot like demisexuality, but perhaps it's not...

Does anyone else feel this way, or have some insight into whether or not this is deemed as demisexual behavior?
