Help with brother
Post Body

My brother had a bad brain infection recently that caused some lesions in his brain. He spent a month in ICU and a few more weeks in the hospital. He's been back home for over a month now but the people at the hospital have been very slow in following up with us and I feel I can no longer rely on their advise for what the best treatment plan for my brother is, as their diagnosis is not even certain.

He basically is nearly immobile/bedridden right now but his physical therapy is helping him gain some mobility in his arms and legs. His speech is slurred and has trouble finding the right words and often says nonsense things. His short term memory is very faulty but remembers very technical things about his job. Sometimes has hallucinations. I would say he basically has symptoms of dementia/TBI while he's in his 30s.

I am wondering what type of therapy/rehabilitation would be most adequate for him outside of the physical such as cognitive, speech therapy? And what sort of things can we do at home to rehabilitate his brain. He is often very tried and sleepy and has trouble concentrating even for eating. I'm thinking puzzle games or even educational videos on youtube, or something easier to handle?

Just looking for general advice from people who have gone through something similar.

Thanks in advance!
