Mom (Parkinson’s dementia) has begun yelling at her caregiver and calling her a dictator for no reason. She calls her friends over to complain and tell lies to her friends about the caregivers.
- How do I tell all her friends (at scale) that she’s demented and to ignore it?
- Should I clear her phone of her friends’ numbers? I feel like many (but not all) friends are just reveling in the tragedy porn and don’t mind cutting them out - but it may drive mom nuts.
- How do we get over the hump of Mom dismissing her caregiver as a dictator?
She’s really fighting her dementia and denies it. It sounds awful, but if she were a vegetable and didn’t fight everything, life would be easier for all of us.
We met some other ladies with Parkinson’s dementia in the assisted living she was in for a bit, and they were all in vegetable state and peaceful - that is NOT my mom!
- Is it normal for folks who are fighting dementia and denying it to become vegetables as the end nears? (I sure hope so)
Thanks!
