Are Delta flights more expensive this year or am I making that up?

I am looking to fly roundtrip between Washington Reagan and Atlanta this month/March. The flights are at least $500 round trip! This time last year, I do not recall paying more than $250 for the same flight. I'm also looking for international travel this year but the prices are astronomically high.
