really would like to be able to have the hardware of a galaxy with grapheneOS on it. i'm gonna stick with a Pixel until that day comes lol but one can dream. can someone get on this? thanks lol
i thought it was just possible on the Pixel cuz they don't lock the bootloader, not that there was another hardware component. but i wouldn't be surprised.
Glad to hear it's an improvement over the 7. I feel like I'll probably stick it out to see what the 9 brings us, but if it's not much of an improvement I'll probably get an 8 or 8 Pro or 8a if there is one
If you're looking to save some money, I don't see any issue in going with the 7. But if you're not that worried about it, I'd probably go ahead and get the 8 or 8 Pro. However, if you're brand new to android in general, might be better to ease in with the 7. Or even a 6a or Pro.

i've thought about lineageOS, but not sure how it compares to grapheneOS. maybe i just have a meh Pixel 7, but it gets hot when under a load and the modem is meh as well. battery is meh too. camera is fine. fingerprint reader is meh - works most of the time unless my skin's dry lol. i mean, overall, the phone is ok, but i've had better. maybe the 8 or 8 Pro is better. wanting to wait until the 8a comes out, if it does, and see what it's like.
