I apologize if this isn't the right sub for this, but I thought I'd at least try. I currently have a Pixel 7 running grapheneOS. I like grapheneOS, it's not the issue. The issue is the Pixel 7. It gets hot, battery life really isn't up to snuff, and the cell strength is not good - ive tried different carriers and no noticeable improvements. I like Android so I wanna stay with it. I've been thinking about switching to a Samsung Galaxy S23 , maybe. I know Samsung doesn't let you unlock the bootloader and all that, but I'm curious as to how invasive Google would be if I kept using Signal, Brave, Proton Mail, Calendar, and Drive. I know I'd have to use Google Play to download apps and whatnot and keep the OS up to date. I was also thinking about getting the new Pixel 8, but apparently it still has a lot of the same issues.

I'd just like some input/feedback on this. Or direction to a better sub. TIA 🙏
