Hi, Deftones newbie listener here, pls don’t judge me too hard for not being a hardcore listener yet! I really like mascara, and want to enjoy the other stuff because I like the sound on that song, and a lot of artists I like are inspired by them. but when I listen to ‘around the fur’ I find the aggressive type of singing (like on the line speak) less appealing. I think it’s because I’m not that familiar with the genre it’s from (not sure what genre/ musical style this type of singing comes from?)
Can anyone recommend me some deftones songs without this type of singing? I also interested to know where this type of singing comes from. And do you have any tips for how I can get more used to it? I want to be able to appreciate the music.
Thanks !
