I've been a fan of Paul since the dp days and even into DFF, in fact the reason I'm a chief's table patron is because the episode Paul did on Dahmer was great and really well polished, but this accelerationist thing is getting out of hand.
As a black man growing up in bum fuck Georgia, his arguments as to how the system has fucked over a lot of people really resonated with me when I was younger and even now. In fact for the longest time I had a similar idea on voting but I realized one crucial thing. In history when things go to shit uprisings aren't typically what happens, scapegoating is. Don't get me wrong, uprisings do sometimes happen when systems go to shit but scapegoating is more prevalent in those systems (the jews in Germany after ww1, the blacks after the civil war, the Japanese after pearl harbor, Muslims/Arabs after 9/11, etc.). And as it stands now, people of color in America (who for the most part have things bad as they are now) cannot afford for things to get worse. black and latino people have suffered more under this pandemic than white people , with more deaths and lower average income to deal with this in the first place.
My problem is that you can espouse accelerationism because you're largely divorced from it. White supremacy is baked into this country and when shit gets bad and more white supremacist militias start rising up you're not the one they're going to be looking for. Systemic racism makes the playing field uneven, and accelerationism just makes it bad for people of color.
