My uncle passed away a decade ago but his widow still had yet to deal with downsizing his massive equipment collection. Because it hasn't been touched in a decade, little to none of it is in running condition at present time. I'm not sure of the market for any of this or if it's worth cleaning the carburetors, installing new batteries, fixing flats, etc just to sell them. What muddies the water is nobody is sure what is marital property or my cousin's. Working on these was a shared hobby between my uncle and cousin. My cousin's interest in this hobby died with my uncle. Neither the live-in cousin or my aunt have any idea what to do with it all.
I think they're both delusional into thinking they can get the full 'like new' value for these, but everyone would be hurt if only scrap values were presented.
Do I suggest my aunt talks to someone at an auction house to arrange for an auction? What other routes (quick\low effort) are there? People on Craigslist and Facebook want everything for free...if they bother to show up.
What are some good options? What do you think, people of r/declutter?
Edit: No it's not on a farm and he wasn't active in farming. We're talking trailers, trailers, trailers! All sorts of implements, 25 tractors, ~30? chainsaws, lawn mowers, sooo many tools.
