$2200! For an 8 by 8 pod to ship your stuff half way across the US

I started my decluttering journey in 2020 along with everyone else who was getting on to the trend at the time. I've gotten rid of a lot and I thought I was in an ok spot. Local movers have told us it'll only take them 30 minutes to an hour to move our things to their truck since we didn't have that much. Even then, every few months I'll still have enough to make a bag to go to donations.

I'm giving away all of our furniture but will be stuffing the pod with clothes, kitchen, bathroom, living room/office things. I can't toss all those away to start over, especially clothes. I've collected them throughout the years and the thought of starting over is terrible and stressful. It will cost me more money and time to replace everything.

I wanted to be that person that didn't need a pod like this but I feel like I've failed! What has caused you to put the amount of stuff you have into perspective? How did it make you feel and how did you overcome it?

I am going to second this. It is just expensive to move cross country. $2000 is actually not too bad. You can spend $10k or more, easily.
