I'm close to quitting caffeine. I just need to know how caffeine affects sleep, though.

Is it true that, no matter what time you take coffee during the day, you're still going to have some in your system once you fall asleep?
I'm frustrated at the thought, as I have a terrible case of sleep apnea and I frequently have trouble getting restful sleep.
Does anyone have any knowledge on this particular facet of caffeine addiction?
