Reputation for not showing up to shows?

I live in Boston and one of my local venues has announced on facebook that DG has a show scheduled in July.
I've never seen them live and would love to go but all the comments are basically "if they show up" and even "who is the opener that will end up headlining?"
Is their reputation really that bad?
