My coworker went missing 6 days ago and was found dead in his car the morning. He was about my age, worked in the same department as I did. He was so kind and relaxed. We won’t know his cause of death until the autopsy.
It’s just so weird. I miss him already. It’s so strange knowing he’s gone. That this is the new reality.
This is the first time someone my age, who I knew, and saw often, my friend, died. He was an atheist. It’s just over. I’m never going to see him again.
(My dad made this terrible joke that now well there is a new spot at work for me to slide into. Fuck that! It literally made me cry.) He was such a good person. He didn’t deserve to die like this, alone, cold, missing for a week!
I don’t like the way people cope with death. I want to feel. I don’t want to be cheered up. But I’m not overwhelmed by my sadness. It’s just a reasonable sadness. That he deserved a better death. He was a good person and I wish he was still here.
